Qatar Charity (QC) has initiated the Iftar projects in Ghana and Cote d’Ivoire to distribute 100,000 hot meals to underprivileged families, individuals in need, and the most vulnerable groups in both countries, as part of the Ramadan “Giving Lives On” campaign, thanks to the generous and enduring support from the people of Qatar.

The field team of Qatar Charity in Ghana has already started the distribution of hot meals at various centers across four major cities: the capital, Accra, along with Kumasi, Tamale, and Wa in the northern region of the country.

The beneficiaries of the hot Iftar meals provided by Qatar Charity expressed their sincere gratitude to the people of Qatar for their support in delivering ready-to-eat Iftar meals as part of the “Giving Lives On” campaign for the year 2025. They prayed to God to reward them for their charitable acts, supporting the needy and vulnerable families in this blessed month. Imam Najm al-Din al-Aziz stated, “Qatar Charity has been providing hot meals at our mosque, which was also built by Qatar Charity, located in the bustling Zonkou area. From the very first day of Ramadan, their teams have been distributing Iftar meals to fasting Muslims at this mosque.”

Hassan Ouda, Director of Qatar Charity in Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire, announced that over 100,000 individuals are benefiting from the Iftar project. He mentioned that Qatar Charity is hosting regular communal Iftars at a community center in Abidjan, bringing together residents to strengthen the spirit of faith, brotherhood, and solidarity. These events include participation from orphan families, people with disabilities, and other vulnerable groups.

Umm al-Yatama, the mother of the orphans, expressed her joy, stating that she and her children were delighted by the visit from Qatar Charity’s team, who brought happiness by sharing the Iftar experience with her children on the first day of Ramadan. She said, “We ask God to accept your deeds, as your goodness has been abundant.”

Hassan Ouda, the Director of Qatar Charity in Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire, emphasized the organization’s commitment to regularly organizing community Iftar projects at one of its centers in Abidjan. These events aim to promote the ethos of fraternity and interdependence among participants, including families of orphans, individuals with disabilities, and other members of the community.

He added that an additional community Iftar will take place in the city of Ougene in northern Côte d’Ivoire, specifically for the residents of that area.

Abdullah Muslim, the Programme Manager at the Qatar Charity office in Ghana, noted that the organization distributes Iftar meals daily at the mosques it has constructed and also hosts community Iftars for Muslims, including those in boarding schools and Qur’an memorization centers.

He noted that this year’s Iftar project, which spans four major cities in Ghana, aims to benefit fasting Muslims from underprivileged families, coordinated with the Department of Religious Affairs.
