Decoding the Involvement of the UAE in the Gaza War

The Houthi rebels in Yemen have asserted that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) actively participated in Israel’s military actions against Gaza. Mohammed Al-Bakhiti, a member of the Houthi political office, disclosed this information, emphasizing the reliability of their sources.

Speaking to the Lebanese Al-Mayadeen network, Al-Bakhiti stated that the UAE directly engaged in the bombing of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. When questioned about whether this involvement was by Americans or another Arab party, he specified that it was the Emiratis, citing credible information in support.

Al-Bakhiti highlighted a perceived distancing of Saudi Arabia and the UAE from their nations, asserting that they view the triumph of Palestinian resistance in Gaza as a threat to their regimes, interpreting it as a potential cause for their collapse.

Observing social media, particularly former Twitter users now on X and Facebook, Al-Bakhiti noted that Emirati and Saudi sentiments blame their governments for the situation in Gaza.

This isn’t the first time reports have surfaced linking the UAE to Israel’s actions against Palestinians in Gaza. Several news outlets previously discussed the UAE’s direct support for Israel, including expressions of displeasure from the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the outset of Operation Al-Aqsa Storm.

Allegations persisted, with reports of American military aircraft arriving at Al-Dhafra Air Base in the UAE for assistance to Israel in the Gaza conflict. The UAE denied these claims and rejected reports of American fighters entering the Al-Zafra military base in Abu Dhabi for supporting Israel.

UAE’s Minister of International Cooperation, Reem Al Hashemi, called for a Gaza ceasefire at the UN Security Council but focused on Palestinian resistance as a “crime” while disregarding Israeli actions against civilians.

The opposition website “Emirate Leaks” exposed UAE’s support for Israel, including diplomatic and media backing. The UAE government reportedly suppressed support for Palestinians internally and even facilitated the transfer of Israeli reserve soldiers from Dubai Airport to join the war.

Moreover, the UAE allegedly used its regional influence to pressure Syria into not opening a front during Israel’s war against Gaza, as revealed by the American news site “Axos.” This purportedly aimed to ensure Tel Aviv’s comfort regarding the Syrian front.
